TikTok shows new videos to a small test audience first, so the first hour matters, but a good clip keeps being pushed for days. Post when your followers are awake, then let it run.
How to use the planner
- 1
Pick the platform
Each network is used at different moments of the day: LinkedIn at work, TikTok and Snapchat in the evening, YouTube in the afternoon.
- 2
Pick your niche
A B2B account and a food account reach the same people at very different times. The niche shifts the windows.
- 3
Pick the country
Times are shown in that country's local time and, if you are somewhere else, in your own time too.
Where these times come from
There is no single best time to post. What exists are patterns that show up again and again in the large public analyses of engagement that social media tools publish every year: people scroll at breakfast, at lunch and in the evening; professional networks are busy during office hours; entertainment peaks late; weekends are slower for work content and stronger for leisure.
The planner turns those patterns into concrete starting points per platform and niche. They are where to begin, not a law. Your own audience may be different, and the only reliable way to know is to test.
Why the audience's time zone matters
Post at 7 pm in Bucharest and it is 6 pm in Rome and noon in New York. If most of your followers are in one country, schedule in their time, not yours. That is why the planner asks where your audience is, and shows the converted time when you are in a different zone.
If your audience is spread over several time zones, pick the largest group, or post the same clip at different times on different accounts.
How to find your own best time
Start with the windows above and post at the same two or three times for two weeks. Then open your analytics (TikTok Studio, Instagram Insights, YouTube Studio) and check when your followers are online and which posts got the most views in the first two hours. Move one time slot at a time, so you know which change made the difference.
Consistency matters more than the perfect minute. An account that posts four times a week at decent times will grow faster than one that posts once at the ideal hour and then disappears.
Tips for timing your posts
- Post about 30 minutes before the peak, so the video is ready when people arrive.
- Stay available for comments in the first hour; replies help the post travel.
- Don't post the same clip on all networks at the same second; stagger them.
- Holidays and big events change everything: check your analytics around them.
- Re-check your best times every few months; audiences change.
Doing this for every post?
With PostingClips you choose the days and hours once: the Calendar and the automations post at those times on every account, staggered by a few minutes, even when you are offline.

What is the best time to post on TikTok?
As a starting point: weekdays between 12:00 and 14:00 and between 18:00 and 22:00 in your audience's local time, with Tuesday to Thursday usually strongest. Then adjust with your own analytics.
What is the best time to post Instagram Reels?
Lunchtime (11:00 to 13:00) and evenings (19:00 to 21:00) on weekdays are the most reliable starting points, in your followers' local time.
Is it better to post at the weekend?
For entertainment, food and lifestyle, often yes. For B2B and professional content on LinkedIn or X, weekends are usually the weakest days.
Does posting time still matter if the algorithm recommends videos for days?
Less than on chronological feeds, but yes: the first hour decides how widely a video is tested, and that happens when your current followers are online. On Bluesky and X, timing matters even more.
Is this based on my own account's data?
No. The planner uses general patterns, without connecting to any account. For your own data, check your platform's analytics; PostingClips shows the results of your posts in one place.
